The Taste of African Food Project

Since 2020, we have provided culturally appropriate food supports to Africans in Calgary, serving over 400 individuals. 

Economic Support Group for Immigrants

According to research, immigrants are constantly finding it difficult to continue on their previous career path on landing and tend to settle for lower income-paying jobs; some actually deviate and, in the process, become very disillusioned and discouraged with the whole process of immigrating. Afri-Can Connect has created a support group program that takes places bi-monthly last Saturday in the month to provide support as well as strategies for newly landed immigrants who wants and needs that community support.

Interview/Resume Clinics Session

Canada is country with a large influx of new immigrants on a daily basis. As a result, we as an organization are positioning our services to cater for these new immigrants to enable them have a soft-landing experience, settle in quickly and be able to integrate fully into the Canadian environment in little or no time. We offer specialized support for Black youth seeking meaningful employment.

Career Coaching Clinic Sessions

Our In-house HR Professionals, who are well versed in the cultural nuances, assist clients with career changes  and progression.

Black Networking Session.

These sessions are designed for Black youth and women focusing on career opportunities and development in various industries.

Mental Health Counselling and Support

We provide culturally sensitive counselling and clinical support from a cultural humility perspective to support Black newcomers specific needs.
